About this calculator

In-hand salary is the amount left after the deductions that leave your gross pay. If you already have a payslip, you do not need to guess a CTC percentage. Add basic, HRA, and the other allowances that are paid to you, then subtract employee PF, professional tax, and TDS.

Do not subtract employer PF. That contribution is the employer’s cost. It is not a second deduction from the same gross.

Professional tax depends on the state and sometimes on the month. A February figure can differ from April. TDS depends on the declaration you gave the employer. If either line is missing on your slip, enter zero rather than a guess you will forget later.

When you only have an annual CTC, use the salary calculator first. Come back here when the monthly lines are known.

In-hand formula

Gross = basic + HRA + other allowances
Deductions = employee PF + professional tax + TDS
In-hand = gross − deductions

Example from the default boxes

Basic ₹30,000, HRA ₹12,000, other allowances ₹8,000, PF ₹1,800, professional tax ₹200, and no TDS.

Gross is ₹50,000. Deductions are ₹2,000. In-hand is ₹48,000 a month, or ₹5,76,000 over twelve such months.

Replace every box with your payslip. The default professional tax is not your state’s law.

₹30,000 basic, ₹12,000 HRA, ₹8,000 other

PF ₹1,800 and PT ₹200.

₹48,000

How to use

  1. Copy basic, HRA, and other allowances from the payslip.
  2. Enter employee PF, not employer PF.
  3. Enter professional tax and TDS for the month. Use zero if that line is absent.
  4. Press Calculate.

Important notes

  • Use the numbers already on the payslip. This page does not rebuild CTC.
  • Employer PF is not deducted again. It was never part of the monthly gross.
  • A yearly bonus is not in this monthly figure unless you add it yourself.

FAQ

Which PF do I enter?

Employee PF, the amount deducted from your salary. Do not enter the employer’s contribution as well.

What if I have no professional tax?

Enter zero. Not every state charges it, and slabs differ.

Can I include a bonus?

Only if you add it into other allowances for that month. A yearly bonus is not spread automatically.

How is this different from the salary calculator?

The salary calculator starts from CTC and builds a structure. This one starts from monthly lines you already know.
